Oz Land Prices Already On The Rise

News is being cir­cu­lated by inter­na­tional sources that Aus­tralian land prices are already ris­ing mak­ing now the time to invest, as the lat­est res­i­den­tial land report from the Hous­ing Indus­try Asso­ci­a­tion and RP Data shows the cost of land in Aus­tralia is now begin­ning to increase.

In the March quar­ter alone, land prices rose by a stag­ger­ing 7.4%, show­ing that the Aus­tralian prop­erty mar­ket, as pre­dicted by DSR Asset Man­age­ment Ltd., is surely going to grow from strength to strength in the coun­try in the near future, which is great news for investors.

Christo­pher Todd, invest­ment prop­erty research ana­lyst for DSR has com­mented that, “this is one of the signs that we have been wait­ing for. We have all been really push­ing for invest­ment in the coun­try because the mar­ket has been so great and this just shows it maybe already well on the road to recov­ery. Aus­tralia has responded to treat­ment so well by the gov­ern­ment and the investors are flock­ing there, and for good reason.”

Louis Christo­pher from SQM Research agrees that the prop­erty mar­ket is look­ing on the up, “higher land val­ues, bet­ter auc­tion clear­ance rates and an increase in hous­ing finance approvals indi­cate the worst could be over.”

The fact that land is already begin­ning to increase in value means that now is an excel­lent time to buy. If the prop­erty mar­ket con­tin­ues in this way, then as time goes on the mar­gin for profit will decrease for investors as prices will go up as the econ­omy recov­ers. Aus­tralia, par­tic­u­larly South Aus­tralia cur­rently has one of the most sta­ble prop­erty mar­kets in the world. Prices are cheap now but are set to rocket, as Australia’s econ­omy is one of the few in the world which is set to recover by next year, mean­ing investors really should not hang around for too long.
